Abstract

The goal of the project is the reduction of GHG emissions in selected Asian countries (i.e. BRESL countries) by accelerating the adoption and implementation of energy standards and labels (ES&L) in Asia. The project also facilitates harmonization of test procedures, standards and labels among developing countries in Asia, when appropriate. The project is expected to cost-effectively deliver an average 10% reduction in total residential and commercial energy use in partner countries at the time of peak impact by the year 2030 compared to a baseline scenario, thereby contributing to more environmentally sustainable and economically efficient development.
