Abstract
The project is directed at improving access to energy services in two villages in Vanua Lava Island, through the use of locally produced copra oil as a biofuel. Project estimated results are creating the facilities and infrastructure for energy production and distribution; installing one copra oil mill, which is operating and capable of producing 30-50 t of copra oil per year; hiring and training local employees for the operation, maintenance and distribution of the system; and implementing an awareness and safety campaign in relation to the provision of electricity
