Abstract
The Cochico 65 kW run-off-river hydro plant and the Chorriaca hybrid wind-diesel system, with three 25kW wind turbines and a 120kW diesel generator, were commissioned in 2014. Both provide residents with access to a clean and reliable electric service and fossil fuel savings, showing renewable energy development in isolated communities is feasible.
