Rafiki Power working in Tanzania

17.03.2017

A recent interview conducted by Sun Connect with Daniel Becker, Managing Director of Rafiki Power, explores the main obstacles to scaling up access to energy in Tanzania. Rafiki Power (Swahili for: Friendly Power) provides clean and affordable energy to people and businesses without access to the national grid. To date, Rafiki Power has installed and operate 8 mini-grid solutions (solar PV & Battery) in Tanzania and as such has acquired extensive experience in the field. One of their current priorities is to work closely with the government in order to address and clarify the importance of policy and regulatory issues as these remain a major challenge in pursuing the scale up of their projects and meeting SDG 7.
