Urban Sustainable Development

23.05.2016

On 27th May 2016, IEFE Bocconi, the European Commission and the United National Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) will host a high-level conference at Bocconi University (Milan) looking at Financing Urban Sustainable Development, with special focus on IEFE Bocconi's ongoing research program on sustainable, low carbon and smart cities as well as the continued cooperation with SDSN.  Speakers at this high-level event includes Laura Frigenti, the newly appointed head of the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation, as well as many other high-level representatives.

The SDSN was launched in 2012, by UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, to mobilize global scientific and technological expertise to promote practical problem solving for sustainable development, including the design and implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Following the adoption of the SDGs in 2015, the SDSN is now committed to supporting the implementation of the SDGs at local, national, and global scales.

SDSN aims to accelerate joint learning and help to overcome the compartmentalization of technical and policy work by promoting integrated approaches to the interconnected economic, social, and environmental challenges confronting the world. The SDSN works closely with United Nations agencies, multilateral financing institutions, the private sector, and civil society.
