Accountability and transparency are essential to tracking progress on Sustainable Development Goal 7 (SDG7) and identifying where greater action is needed to achieve affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all.
Published annually, Tracking SDG7: The Energy Progress Report brings together the IEA, IRENA, UNSD, the World Bank and WHO, with SEforALL contributing through the SDG7 Technical Advisory Group and complementary analysis.
The latest report shows that remaining energy access gaps are increasingly concentrated in a relatively small number of countries, most of them in Africa. This creates a clearer opportunity to target finance, partnerships and implementation where they can have the greatest impact, while accelerating progress on renewable energy, energy efficiency and clean cooking.
