Global investment in renewables for access to energy

The development of the generation of energy from renewable sources is strategic because the potential contribution of these sources to the objective of SE4A is really large.  

Speaking at the 2016 Investor Summit on Climate Risk, last January, UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has challenged investors to at least double clean energy investments by 2020 to reduce climate risks, end energy poverty and create a safer future.

Approximately three quarters of the world population without access to electricity live in areas where development of the grids is not foreseen and clean energy for off-grid solutions are available and getting cheaper.
