With the end of Expo Milano 2015, after six months of activities, debates, meetings between cultures and countries from all continents, the result has been more than positive. Expo2015 was definitely a great opportunity to learn about and discuss the realities related to nutrition and food security. WAME, which has Expo2015 as a founding member, has brought the issue of access to energy inside Expo2015 and tried to raise awareness among visitors on this issue, noting that the availability of energy depends on the ability of the peoples of have decent living conditions. In Expo2015 we realized several initiatives : The exhibition - installation " Access to energy " in the Civil Society pavilion during May and June 2015, by which visitors could watch / read / listen to what it means for almost 40 % of the world's population living without access to electricity and clean systems for cooking. During six months of Expo2015 Wame has promoted a series of seminars , on May 14, 2015, on the issue of access to energy in Africa, on May 21, 2015 a co - organization with ENEA (National institute for alternative energies) has led to an interesting debate on the connection between water and energy and food in the world. On June 17, a workshop on renewable energy and innovation, and on July 8, 2015 in collaboration with US-based Global Alliance for clean cookstoves we have organized a workshop entirely focused to the topic of clean cooking, problem that afflicts 2.6 billion people worldwide and causes 4 million premature deaths a year, according to the World Health Organization, this event had many guests of institutions, entrepreneurs and local and international associations. The series of seminars ended September 21, 2015 with a workshop on innovative finance for access to energy. Another initiative always inside of Expo2015 was the creation of thematic itinerary "Energy". An interesting itinerary to discover Expo2015 following the thread of energy access through the halls that have presented some projects in their countries. In particular, the route has 10 stations including the following: pavilions of Brazil, Mauritania, Mozambique, Sierra Leone, Eritrea, Kuwait, Biodiversity Park, Enel Pavilion, Pavilion Zero, and a station of the UN program Zero Hunger. In these six months, therefore, we have helped to raise awareness on the issue of lack of access to energy in the world of Expo2015 visitors, because the energy is also key to feeding the planet. A number of seminars (www.wame2015.org/convegni/<http://www.wame2015.org/convegni/>) were also organized focusing on various aspects of access to energy: on May 14, 2015, a workshop was dedicated to the African continent in cooperation with the International Energy Agency.IEA. on May 21, 2015, a co - organization with ENEA (National institute for alternative energies) led to an interesting debate on the nexus between water and energy and food in the world. On June 17, a workshop on renewable energy and innovation was held in cooperation with IRENA, the international agency for renewable energy, and on July 8, 2015 we have organized a workshop entirely focused on the topic of clean cooking, a problem that afflicts 2.6 billion people worldwide and causes 4 million premature deaths a year, according to the World Health Organization. This event had the collaboration of the Aspen Institute and the US-based Global Alliance for clean cookstoves. An interesting itinerary to discover EXPO2015 on the steps of access to energy through country pavilions that included the following: the Biodiversity park, Brazil, Enel, Eritrea, Kuwait, Mauritania, Mozambique, Pavilion Zero, Sierra Leone and a station of the UN program Zero Hunger. In these six months we have helped raising the awareness of the issue of lack of access to energy in the world, since energy is key to “Feed the planet. Energy for Life”.
