WAME @ Clean Energy Ministerial virtual event hosted by the Government of Chile

The Energy Portraits project, by WAME, has been invited to present the project at the annual CEM 12/ MI-6 event from May 31 to June 6, 2021.

At the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change conference of parties in Copenhagen in December 2009, U.S. Secretary of Energy Steven Chu announced that he would host the first Clean Energy Ministerial (CEM) to bring together ministers with responsibility for clean energy technologies from the world’s major economies and ministers from a select number of smaller countries that are leading in various areas of clean energy. By working together, these governments can accomplish more than by working alone. The CEM’s initiatives build on Technology Action Plans that were released by the Major Economies Forum Global Partnership in December 2009, which laid out best practice blueprints for action in key technology areas.

Since then, 11 CEM Ministerial events have taken place, CEM membership has grown to 27 of the world’s leading clean energy economies, and many international organisations and companies have joined CEM workstreams that span the clean energy spectrum. In 2021, Chile is hosting the 12th Clean Energy Ministerial – consistent with the inclusive, supportive ethos of the CEM, the week-long meeting is being held virtually and is open to all.

Chile will host the annual CEM 12/ MI-6 event from May 31 to June 6, 2021. The event will be 100% virtual, delivering content in different formats. Through an online platform, the audience will be able to access on-demand content for a week, watch live events and create extensive networking.
