2015, the European year for development: everyone's year

2015 is a special year for development. It is the first ever European Year dedicated to development but it is also the year in which the world agreed to reach the Millennium Development Goals and the international community will agree on the future global framework for poverty eradication and sustainable development.
The EYD2015 seeks to stimulate the active interest of European citizens in development cooperation and foster a sense of responsibility and opportunity: EU plays a crucial role and helps developing countries worldwide to build peaceful and prosperous societies. EU development aid goes to around 150 countries in the world, focusing on the countries which need more help, involving NGOs, local governments and civil society.
