ACCESS TO ENERGY IN AN EXHIBITION AT THE EXPO… AND OUTSIDE
WAME presents the “Energy Corners”, two exhibitions-installations to discover just what it is like, for many communities in the world, not to have access to modern energy.
“Energy corners” accompanies visitors with information and data, stories and personal testimonies from different countries and continents, all connected with the desire to win the challenge of access to energy for all.
No access to electricity and clean cooking systems is a problem affecting almost three billion people on our planet. It is harmful to health, the environment, a fair society, education, economic development and gender equality.
The multimedia used in the exhibition illustrates the main aspects of the problem and the many solutions implemented in the world by non-government organisations, institutions and businesses. It also offers ideas to reflect on, to help us understand what energy represents for our society and for the future of all of us.
The Energy Corner at the EXPO is located in the Civil Society Pavilion in Cascina Triulza.
The other Energy Corner will be held from June at the Leonardo da Vinci National Museum of Science and Technology in the centre of Milan.
Both underline important aspects of the subject, such as the contribution made by non-government organisations that work in the field of co-operation and development to bring modern energy to communities who lack it. Both illustrate innovative technological solutions capable of providing new answers to the primary needs of humanity.
