Abstract
Our 200 kW mini hydropower plant on the Ambangal river was completed in 2010 to increase the supply of clean electricity to Kiangan, Philippines. A Rice Terrace Conservation Fund was established to help finance local terrace conservation efforts through the plant’s power sales. The project was selected by UNESCO for exemplary energy sustainability.
