Abstract
The project, commissioned in 2007, features three 800 kW wind turbines -the first large-scale wind project in Ecuador. Winner of several international awards, the project has displaced one third of diesel consumption on San Cristóbal and is a reference for the development of similar projects in the Galapagos Islands and in Ecuador’s mainland.
