Kyte makes it clear that the technology is there to allow universal access to energy, but what is needed is the right public policy and financial means to make the active involvement of women in low-income societies a reality. It is time, she argues, to reach the potential small business owners, usually women, that can help build the sustainable societies needed to change the future of entire communities and generations. It is time for women to truly prosper, to become successful business owners and village leaders, and to do so we should not be shy of ambition, we should secure clean, affordable energy supplies that can make such sustainable economic activities a reality.
